The 2026 edition of the ITS World Congress will take place in Gangneung, South Korea, from 19 to 23 October. Under the theme “Beyond Connectivity, Connected World”, the congress will focus on smart mobility vision for mid-sized cities, bringing together government representatives, researchers, industry experts and business leaders to exchange insights on C-ITS, autonomous driving, Mobility as a Service, urban air mobility and smart cities. The programme includes a High-Level Roundtable, technical sessions, an exhibition, technical visits and demonstrations, and side events.
CulturalRoad will be represented in SIS008 “From Technology to Acceptance: Localized ITS Planning for Cultural, Tourism and Community Contexts” on 19 October from 15:30 to 17:00. The session examines how localised ITS and CCAM planning can respond to the needs of tourism-driven, culturally diverse and mid-sized cities, covering the full chain from planning and social acceptance through to implementation and policy transferability. Alongside CulturalRoad, the session features contributions from the Diversify-CCAM and SINFONICA projects, and the ALICE network, with additional international perspectives on localised ITS strategies.
