CulturalRoad was at the 5th European Conference on Connected and Automated Driving (EUCAD), held in Ispra, Italy from 13 to 15 May 2025. The conference was co-organised by the European Commission, the FAME project, and the CCAM Partnership, under which CulturalRoad is funded. CulturalRoad shared a joint exhibition stand with sister project Diversify-CCAM, highlighting our shared commitment to making connected and automated mobility more inclusive and accessible.
EUCAD 2025 brought together leading experts, researchers, and policy makers to explore the latest developments in connected and automated mobility. For CulturalRoad, the conference served as a valuable opportunity to connect with peers, share insights, and explore potential collaborations that could enhance the project’s impact. Opportunities for take-up of CulturalRoad materials and tools were identified as part of these discussions.
The joint presence of CulturalRoad and Diversify-CCAM underscored both projects’ commitment to ensuring user needs and diversity are considered in the design and development of future Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) systems. This aims to ensure societal acceptance of these new technologies and that they truly benefit all.
The conference provided an excellent platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration. CulturalRoad coordinator, John Paddington (ERTICO) took part in a closed side event to a delegation of representatives from the Japanese Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure as well as several Japanese universities. He had the opportunity to present the project’s innovative approach as part of a knowledge exchange on both European and Japanese projects related to CCAM. This identified opportunities for future knowledge exchange and collaboration.
CulturalRoad’s participation at EUCAD 2025 fostered collaboration to advance equitable mobility solutions, marking an important step towards a more inclusive and accessible future for CCAM in Europe.
